Youth Ministries
Mt Pleasant Church recognizes the value of guiding our youth on their faith walk. Our youth ministries provide opportunities for young folks to learn, grow, and have fun in the name of Jesus. We welcome the big questions and take the time for open discussions, providing a place for youth to connect with God and engage with their peers.

Youth Group
Tuesdays, 6:15-8:15pm
Mt Pleasant’s Youth Group, named The Way, is a great opportunity for youth to experience fellowship and Christian formation with their peers. We welcome students in 5th-12th grade. The Way meets in their very own Youth Garage adjacent to the church. Each meeting includes dinner- yes, we not only spiritually feed our youth, but physically as well!
After dinner, we get their wiggles out with game time, something different each week. We then move onto our Bible lesson. We focus on topics relative to junior and senior high students and the many challenges they face daily, as well as their growth in coming to know Jesus Christ. Our evening ends with small group time, separated by gender and junior or senior high.
This is a great opportunity for preteens/teens to develop lasting relationships with Christians their age. In addition to our weekly meets, we participate in serving God through various outreach projects, ministries, and local missions. We also take a weekend retreat each year. Our year runs from September through May.
Kids’ Choir
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm
Kids’ Choir is an adventure of singing, learning, and fun! We have two groups- ages 3-7 and 8-13. Our younger group meets in the choir room and our older group utilizes the Youth Garage. We gather on Wednesday evenings 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm from September through May. We start with a Bible story, do some singing, play a game and end with a little treat. We usually sing on the second Sunday of the month for the church service and present a big production for Christmas. We end our year with a crazy picnic at a local playground.
Sunday School
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm
At Mt Pleasant, our kids spend their Sunday school time learning the Westminster Shorter Catechism and memorizing God’s Word through songs, games, and discussion. Fun tools connect them to each other, to great truth and to the God of the Bible! - Our junior high class is lead by Holly Garland in Room 110 - Our senior high class is in the Youth Garage, lead by Joel Matsco.
Every family in our congregation receives its own copy of “Training Hearts, Teaching Minds”, a great interactive family devotional based on the Shorter Catechism. If your home doesn’t already practice household worship, this is a great way to start — and it ties in directly with what your children are learning in Sunday School! Enjoy time together and how to engage your “home team” in learning God’s truth.
